Prior to MacArthur, Mr. Duff was the Director of Bands for 2 years at Paschal High School during which time record numbers of musicians were selected for District, Region, and Area honors.  He also spent 5 years at Azle High School as the Assistant Director of Bands.  During his tenure, the Azle band grew from 130 members to over 270 strong.  The percussion program flourished earning high marks at numerous marching band invitationals and solo and ensemble contests and his concert bands earned consistent sweepstakes awards at UIL competition.  In 2007, the Azle Percussion Ensemble was named one of the three winners nationwide of the Percussive Arts Society Percussion Ensemble Competition and was invited to perform at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Columbus, Ohio.  Twice during Mr. Duffs tenure the Azle Marching Band qualified for the prestigious Texas State Marching Championship in San Antonio where they finished twelfth in 2007.  ​

Mr. Duff hails from Salina, Kansas, where he began his musical career studying percussion with Dean Kranzler and then Dr. James Strain at Kansas State University. Upon graduation, Mr. Duff moved to Texas and has been a Band Director and Percussion Instructor in the Grapevine-Colleyville, Birdville and Keller school districts. Mr. Duff also spent time studying with Dr. Bob Schietroma, Mark Ford, and Ron Fink at the University of North Texas.  Mr. Duff has been a freelance percussion teacher and music arranger for many of the top marching bands in Texas, including: Grapevine High School, Fossil Ridge High School, Richland High School, Robert E. Lee High School (Midland, Texas), Killeen High School and Birdville High School. He is a member of Percussive Arts Society, Texas Bandmasters Association and Texas Music Educators Association.

Mr. Duff is married to LaRae Duff, a band director at Huffines Middle School in Lewisville, Texas.  They are the proud parents of two sons, Hudson and Brody.  In his spare time Mr. Duff enjoys snow-skiing, reading, and watching Kansas State Athletics.
